Garner is running for his first full term as the 3rd District Superior City Council Member after winning a heated special election last year. He holds a degree in Organizational Leadership from St. Scholastica, and has over 20 years of experience with local government in MN and Superior. Garner currently serves on the Superior Plan Commission, The Superior Public Library, The Douglas County Historical Society, Superior Community Development Block Grant Committee, and attends other committees as time permits. His work is focused on building both health in Douglas County and sustainable and equitable wealth. These goals tie together the larger picture of environmental sustainability, fair wages, help for small businesses, new urbanism, affordable housing, and many other local government issues. Garner, his wife Alison, and their tween June live in the historic Roosevelt Terrace where they’re working on carefully restoring their home for future generations.
